Probate (Estate Administration)

At Rader and Coleman, we know that the death of a loved one can be devastating and the legal aspects can seem overwhelming. When you are ready, we will guide you through the legal process with compassion and careful attention. We can also recommend bereavement and support groups available in your community. Our knowledgeable, meticulous and caring attorneys and staff can help ease the stress of probating the estate. We can assist the estate’s Personal Representative in all steps of the probate process, including:

  • Petitioning the Probate Court to admit the will and appoint the Personal Representative
  • Closing the deceased’s financial accounts and opening estate accounts
  • Communicating with beneficiaries
  • Counseling guardians and trustees
  • Transferring assets from the deceased to the estate
  • Providing advice on paying taxes and other debts
  • Transferring Florida homestead residence
  • Coordinating with other professionals and experts

When we are not representing a Personal Representative in an estate, we are available to represent Estate beneficiaries and creditors.

Trust Administration

Florida law requires that trustees are held to certain high standards regarding their fiduciary responsibilities. Often, trustees are confused or concerned with their duties or making certain decisions. We provide trustees or beneficiaries guidance regarding their duties throughout the administration process. When we are not representing a Trustee, we are available to represent beneficiaries of a trust.
